The Second Arrow earrings
Inspired by the Buddhist teaching of the Two Arrows (Sallatha Sutta), these earrings reflect on the difference between unavoidable pain and the suffering we add through our response.
The first arrow represents the events of life that arrive without consent—loss, illness, rejection. The second arrow is what follows: the stories we tell ourselves—blame, rumination, self-attack.
Crafted in sterling silver, these earrings are intentionally asymmetrical. One arrow is clean and direct; the other diverges subtly, suggesting an alternative to repetition. Worn together, they mark a moment of choice.
A quiet reminder: pain may arrive uninvited, but suffering is not compulsory.
