The Second Arrow earrings
The Second Arrow is inspired by the Buddhist teaching known as the Two Arrows (Sallatha Sutta), which distinguishes between unavoidable pain and the additional suffering we can create through our reaction to it.
The first arrow represents the things that happen to us without our consent — loss, illness, rejection and other forms of pain. The second arrow represents what we add afterwards: blame, rumination and self-attack.
These rings are crafted in sterling silver and intentionally paired in contrast. One is smooth and direct; the other is feathered, suggesting movement, complexity and another possible path.
Worn together, they mark a moment of choice: pain may arrive uninvited, but we don't have to add to it.
